7500km service interval

Just had my R32 serviced today and the window sticker/what mechanic wrote in logbook suggests next service done in 7500kms or 6 months. I know Volkswagen recommend 15000kms or 12 months. I had already planned on doing it every 10,000kms but 75000kms seems a bit early considering I'm not tracking the car.

How regularly is everyone else servicing their R32s? Interested to know what other people's thoughts are.

I'd be asking the mechanic why they've quoted such a short service interval.

If you're not doing anything unusual, service by the book (go on km too, not dates, unless you're doing ridiculously low km).

12,500km is the service interval for my Bora V6 4Motion...

recommending a minor service, oil change only I'd guess. half of the full service interval.

The minor (oil service ) interval is 15000km/1 year. The major service is 30000km/2 years

Sounds like he's drumming up some business for himself.

Having said that...I change the oil every 10000km.

Sorry yeah, that's sort of what I meant by minor service...changing the oil in between annual services. Scheduled services should be a bit more than an oil change alone haha!
7500km oil change won't hurt though

What I am saying is the VW "minor" service is the annual oil change (and a quick lookaround at brakepads etc)...there is no need for an "extra" six month oil service in between (unless you exceed the km's of course).

This mechanic must just be used to servicing old falcons or something....or new landcruiser diesels...still have 5000km service intervals!..wt..?
