I would guess you would be scraping the inner guards at the front if the wheels were much wider than 6.5 inch and at that width the wheel face would be almost protruding past the tyre.

As with anything regarding wheels and MKIVs, trust Dylan, if he says don't do it then don't do it.

    Huh? Am I missing something?

I had +65's very briefly on the rear of my Bora with 30mm spacer/adapters and had a bit of poke.

Yeah, listen to Dylan in the end, I'm just curious about what I'm missing.

You're missing the fact that he's missing spacers lol. He just asked about native +55.

And the fact that spacers are illegal for use on the road in Australia, and if you're caught with them on a car when you have an accident, you could theoretically have a claim refused (because the car isn't roadworthy, and keeping your car roadworthy is a requirement in almost all insurance policies).
    Nothing to see here...

... Which is a load of BS (some Porsches even came standard with them!!). Our transport laws are a joke. Haha.

Even though some people think they are BS, it should be stated anyway as we can't expect everyone on the forum to know what is legal and what is not.
