Hi all, the clutch take-up is too close to the floor and now a little extra effort is required to get into 1st gear.
i'm now resigned to the fact a new clutch kit needs to be installed. This was the suggestion of a local brake and clutch centre today who bled the system to ensure not a hyd problem.
i read somewhere the pedal itself can be problematic? if so is it damage easily visible?
2003 model 136,000kms The clutch is smooth in operation and does not seem to slip at all.
I'm on the Northern Beaches (Sydney) if anyone can point out a good workshop who knows these models that would be helpful.
Any suggestions / advice greatly appreciated...

It could be a master or slave cylinder but unlikely given the brake and clutch guys just looked at it
It's very likely to need a new clutch
You risk wearing out the syncro on 1st gear (if your gearbox actually has syncro on 1st)

Oh,,,, today clutch pedal let go and went to the floor and stayed there. I could pull it back up and it held there higher than before. When looking the push rod is to the side of the pedal. Couple of black pieces on the floor. Tow truck home $220 ouch!! Good news is this must have been on its way for a little while so the clutch is probable fine. Now to find parts and do the job. Hopefully some ringing around will take me to someone who knows about these failures and the parts I'll need.
