4mo clutch/flywheel - looking for advice

Hey all. I'm looking for advice.

I've had my 2001 4mo for about 2.5 years now, and I've known the clutch needed doing since I bought it.
Well, coming up for the 100,000km service anyway, it's time to get a new clutch +/- flywheel.
Exoticars in North Parramatta will be doing the work.

So my questions:
1. I'm keen to get something a little more performance-oriented than stock, though it's my daily drive, so I don't want to overdo it. Does anyone have any recommendations?
2. Flywheel has to come off anyway - is it worthwhile to get a new (lighter) flywheel?
3. How much should I expect to pay for parts? Stock replacements as well as any suggestions anyone has.
4. Where best to buy parts? I've probably got time to wait for international shipping if need be.

The v6 uses a dual mass flywheel so its always a good idea to change this over. In my car I'm running a SPEC stage 1+ clutch and their solid steel flywheel (they used to stock a 16lb and I think that's whats in mine) and its very much driveable as I run it as my daily , it is a little heavier then stock and does rattle on idle but other then that a very fine quality product and would recomend it , I think ecs has free shipping atm so I would go with them hope this helps

I'd personally stay away from SPEC, they're a cheap kit for a reason!

If it's a daily, replace the OEM flywheel with another stock unit. Grab yourself the LUK branded version off ECStuning. These guys make the genuine units but simply don't have the VW/Audi stamp on it which slashes a good amount of $$ off the cost. While everything is down and out, it would be worth considering replacing;

- throw-out bearing
- rear main seal
- flywheel bots etc.

For clutch, it's hard to go past Sachs... They're a little bit more expensive but truly are a great unit. You can purchase from Sachs themselves and they're shipping is pretty reasonable.

Just check the compatibility between Sachs clutches and LUK flywheels.

Have been caught out before. Best to buy it as a kit.
