    3.6L and 3.8L Bora 24v conversions

wow, haven't even heard of these guys or indeed the conversion before. I knew of the small possibility of sleeving the 2.8L to a 2.9L or maybe even a 3.2 conversion from a normal mk4 R32, but this stuff seems insane.

Are they getting the extra displacement from a longer stroke?

Yeah they will be using the 3.6 from the newer models with the 3.2 head to increase compression. For N/A power this would be a very potent upgrade but would cost a similar amount as a turbo build, although it would likely be more reliable and possibly more fuel efficient unless you decided to go nuts. Taking a 2.8 to 2.9 or a 3.6 to 3.8 would make the bore walls thinner so may not be ideal for a turbo application but thats not the point of doing this kind of conversion

Yep, 3.6L block, 3.2L head (so they'd be the Mk5 R32 Golf head and the CC/R36 Passat 3.6L block mated together). I guess the 3.2L head must flow better?
    Nothing to see here...

Not just flow, compression is increased with smaller cylinder tops giving more bang for your buck. Remember back to the good ol days when you would take a holden 202 black or ford 250 xflow and put 186 or 200 heads on them respectively. This upgrade was good for a fair few ponies and when mated with some porting/polishing/shaving plus a decent carby the end result was sub 2k bonkerness and many a blown tire... oh the memories

Why did I have to see this?
Now I'm tempted to take out a personal loan for a new engine.
