I am currently running Proxes 4's on my GTI and will definately UPGRADE next time. Not that they are bad, just they aren't AWESOME

the problem I find with tyres in the size is that the majority of tyres in this size don't meet the load rating requirements of the Golf (dunno about the Bora tho) which means I'm probably going to increase wheel size at the same time as new tyres

    Thanks Zedub
I will be sure to check the load ratings of anything I'm looking at.

Where are you guy's Michelin PP made ? I have bought MPP but not happy at all, very poor performance in wet. The original Michelin Pilot Sport is a lot better and it's made in German. I suspect some MPP are made in Thailand so depend on which one you've got.

There is a manufacturer tyre for the Golf/Bora made in the potenza RE050 It is a bit more expensive but has a higher load rating...

RedMK2GTi - check if you MPP are made in germany or china i think it was, one is good one is not.

Well in the NZ car club, pretty much 80% of the MK4 GTI and MK3 GTI all run T1R's, they work really well, wear not to bad and are silent.

Been around Pukekohe race track with my T1R's around a corner @140km/h, not screetch not signs of letting go. It was awesome. Highly recommend T1R's

No stamp or any mark to indicate where is it made. I asked the tyre shop guy he told me it's made in Japan. I think he lied.
