205/55/16 tyre recommendations for a Bora

I need to replace the tyres on my Bora V5. I'm after a tyre that offers great grip in both wet and dry conditions and good stability under braking. Tyre wear is not a concern.

I've had a quick look at the manufacturer's websites and listed below what looks suitable. I would appreciate comments from other people's experiences. But I am happy to be steered to something else not on the list.

    Dunlop SP Sport 3000A
    Dunlop SP Sport Maxx
    Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001
    Michelin Pilot Preceda
    Toyo Proxes 4
    Falken Ziex ZE912
    Falken Ziex FK452

    Cheers Matt

Potenza RE050A are supposed to the Sterling Moss of the road at the moment.

I bought my Bora with new Michelin Pilot Preceda on it. Great tyre, I think they may be the original factory tyre? No idea how much they cost though...

Goodyear F1 Eagles or the Michelin Pilot Preceda's are my personal pick. (Eagles the grippiest, just a little noisier)

    tyre recommendation

The Bridgestone Potenza RE050. I have been running them for a year with lots of country runs and compared to the original Michelin Pilot Sport (not Precedas on the V6), they are quieter though I suspect I will not get the same wear out of the Bridgestones. Good wet weather dynamics too.

Hard to go past the Michelin PP, i have them on my Bora and am pleased with both wear and road noise, if you can pick them up for a decent price jump on them, you will not be disapointed!

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

The current Michelin Pilot Precedas (original equipment) are good but I'd like to try something else.

I hadn't considered the Potenzas for some reason so thankyou for the recommendations.

I just pulled out last year's Wheels tyre test and found that they tested this exact size.

The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and Pirelli P Zero Nero were first and second but there was .01 points between them so basically a dead heat.

I'm still leaning towards the new Adrenalins but I will report on whatever I buy.

    Cheers Matt

Ive got Pzero neros and they are rubbish compared to the F1 eagles I had on before - After ~5000kms and wearing the first layer of rubber off them they handle like **** even though they have plenty of tread left on them.

I used to be able to get the inside rear wheel off the ground cornering, now it just understeers.

Hopefully I just got a bad batch - Will be writing to Pirelli Aus!

I will cross them off the list.
