A location could be helpful in this in determining any good workshops and/or suppliers in your area who could help you out.
I'm not too sure on what's out there for the five cylinder dubs in terms of performance modifications.
Will be interesting to hear what the others have to say.

To be honest you haven't picked the best starting point for a performance car. I am not aware of anyone making go-faster bits for the V5. You may find that performance exhausts from a 1.8T will fit with little modification.

We do a flash but with any normally aspirated engine the improvements are small and aimed more at drive ability.

i was afraid of that, what can i do to increase performance? i dont want anything extreme such as a turbo. i was thinking extractors and a cold air intake would be a really good boost

I would do the intake and fit an exhaust as you have a chance of being able to buy them off the shelf.

I would expect extractors to be pretty expensive and would go with a flash before them

Maybe set yourself a budget and see what's available for the money you have.

For example, If you have a grand I could do a flash for that, with maybe change to do a CAI.

With $1500 you could probably have an exhaust made and get CAI.

I would leave your Bora stock standard.
That is how it was meant to be,and thats how it is at its best from the factory.
It is such a classic classy car, dont mess it up.
I would not touch my Jetta.
