$120 is a bargain! i paid atleast $2-250 for my custom 2.5 downpipe and another $200 for the catback
I've just noticed that my wifes beetle has a very under sized dump pipe and I'm just wondering what everyone has done about getting a proper sized exhaust. Is there a company in Australia that sells them? Ive been offered a custom made 2.5inch dump for $120.

They aren't undersized at standard power, there's plenty of flow. I had a 3 inch turbo back system made for my A3 4 years back which cost me $1600. At the time I considered that great value, with the work that went into it.
I'd be worried that $120 is far too cheap. Even if you know the outfit personally. It would take you best part of an hour to get the old one out. I can't see anyone being able to make one in less than a few hours.
2.5 inch would be plenty on an otherwise standard car. I am sure a tune is on your shopping list too, there won't be much of an change from the dp alone. Be wary of high flow cats too. I haven't seen many Turbo Beetles, so I don't know off the top of my head if they run 2 probes. The second one reports cat efficiency, on Polos they often cause fault codes. Stage/Phase 2 software deletes this problem.

I know the guy that's why it's cheap. Yer it's got 2 oxygen sensors, high flow cats don't exist so I won't bother, if anything I will just slam a pipe through the cat that's on there to take the platinum out (only true high flow cat). Both the oxy sensors are before the cat so I assumed one was just an exhaust temp sensor to tell the ecu when the cat melts and blocks the flow. I've found a stainless 2.5inch dump on eBay for $150 delivered so I may take that option as it's direct fit, then il just get my guy to make a custom 2.5 system he's quoted less then $500 including a new cat if I want it. Thanks for the info.

I am not aware of the 110kw/K03 engines having a temp sensor, only the K04s. So I think it would be a bad idea to assume that you can get away with knocking the guts out of the cat.
Not sure about your high flow cats not existing comment either. Metal Cat - The Hi-Flow Cat - Arguably the world's best high flow catalytic converter

Cats are made to cause as little disruption as possible. In most exhaust parts catalogues standard and "high flow" cats have the same part number. I have had the argument enough times to accept that people can have there own opinion and waste there money how ever they feel necessary. Just in my opinion I am happy to buy a $200 cat with the same part number as the $550 "high flow" option.
What is this stage 2 software you mentioned?

Phase 2 in Custom-Codes case provides for a few more KWs over the Phase 1, if you have fitted a downpipe, a bigger intercooler and maybe an intake. At the same time it is assumed, depending on the vehicle in question, that it may throw codes and a check light. This will be disabled if appropriate.
Just be sure you check what that second probe does, before you knock the guts out of the cat. It'll force a bandaid fix on the software if it's not a temp probe.
Do you know what the engine code is? On the sticker inside the service book.

Eng code/ trans code - AWU EGX.
Its has a pod filter( was on there already) and I will fit a down pipe but an intercooler won't happen. There is a lack of space and my wife won't let me cause it will look silly
Just had a look at ETKA and I can only see a lambda probe in the downpipe, before the cat. So you should be OK with the software. Looks like it may be a K03s which would be a bonus.

I wonder what the 2nd sensor is then ???
