    It's had some play for awhile, I could feel a bit of a knock and vibration through the accelerator pedal in the lead up. We hit a small bump in the road then I felt something at the same time which I knew wasn't right, then there was a metallic rotational noise due to the motor being off centre, certainly noticeable straight away.

    Didn't loose drive as such but certainly pulled over as soon as we heard the noise.

    LOL! yeah...

    If I'm super lucky, late next week but more likely the following week. Getting up there to get the car will be more the issue than anything.

    Not having the best of luck with the R32 Corey. Hope to see her back up and running soon!

    Were the VWR or VF Engineering mounts an option? I think it was best to keep it OEM to avoid any noise, vibration and harsh driving experience.

    Happy New Year mate

    VF mounts weren't really an option as there are better mounts around for similar money. VWR mounts were an option due to being locally stocked, however at nearly double the price of the OEM's I couldn't justify the benefit VS cost to go to the VWR. I don't doubt that they're superior to OEM but with my driving habits and where I actually drive the car, I don't think it would've been a worth while exercise.

    Yeah mate,

    R32 is back. The drivers mount didn't fail as first thought. There is actually a bracket which connects the mount to the engine, that is what actually failed, the bracket looks like this;

    (not my bracket)

    So, that bracket was replaced and I've also had both mounts replaced with OEM items. The drivers mount was on back order so the car goes back to VW for the day when I get back from the mines.

    Hopefully past this point I don't have any surprises other than a few small bits which I can sort myself in my off time.

    On a side note, my awesome girlfriend decided to clean the R32 whilst I'm away
