2.8 Bora 4motion's

Hey guys, just a post to all you 2.8 Bora 4motion drivers out there. Just wondering what different mods you guys have done. I know there arn't many of us. I did the CAI intake today and KNN Pod Filter. All done for $170 from Autoone. Chrome piping too! Came up really good. Ill be posting some pics over the next couple of days. Ive got the eyelids and tinted tail lights and getting some 19s over the next few days.

What other mods have you guys done that you recommend? Also what chips do we reccomend on these cars. Ive spoken to a few places and they/ve said the 2.8's are very untunable. Is this true?

O and i almost forgot, what do you guys recommend for exhaust modifications?

They are tunable just depends on how much money you have to spend. Exhaust is nearly always Mill-tek.

There is a post about tuning a little while back, search for it. Some of the shop owners posted what you could potentially do.

Yeah i was looking a cat back exhaust and was quoted 1600. Might look into a highflow cat too. What sort of power increase would i be looking at a catback exhaust and chip?

Not much. I guess 20hp as a guestimate...

Yeah thats not too bad, id be happy with that. I just need enough to beat my mates gti. Hehe only a car length behind. His has been chipped and had the suspension done. Ill have him soon.

Also have any of you guys got 19s on your bora? Im getting some next week. Do they scrub much after the cars been lowered 50mm or so?

I'm pretty slow on the performance mods so far, I've only done the cosmetic things like :
Black tail lights & side markers
angel eye headlights
mesh kamei grille
7in DVD/6 stack, boston speakers, 12in sub, alpine v12 amp.

But I'm almost in the market for some 19's. Not sure what else gonna do, just some basic things.
Hey Nashan with your CAI and KNN, I'm guessing that to be able to do it for $170 you did it urself? thats prob the next things for me but assumed much more than that

Yeah sure did, took a while as you've gotta cut a small bit of plastic out to get the piping through and its not exactly to easiest spot to get to. Not noticable though. O and to answer the question on whether it drives ok when its wet ive had no problems. Was pissing down the other day and no problems whatsoever. Prob wouldnt wanna take it through a river or into the ocean for that matter!
