what size turbine housing are you using? looks like you are using an adaptor plate at the bottom of the flange to the mani???
t25 to t3 (as i know that mani is only available in T3.... so annoying)

also - without the heat shield on top of the turbo - how much clearance is there above it?? looking at a mani without the EWG but maybe add this?

T3 to T3 Turbo Flange Adapter, Flanges, XS Power Inc.
It's a T3 housing, no adapter plate, so that helps with the overhead clearance.

I'm guessing on the clearance a bit as I don't have access to the car today - around 10-15mm from memory, maybe a little more.

OK, fuggit, decided to go ME7.5. Found a complete 2005 TT loom and ECU (BVR) on ebay UK for $300 delivered.

Looking up part numbers for the other bits that Lito mentioned in his post.....

I have one, they are out of production now though but only because a better product exists. Search DW fuel pumps

Hey mate, its the DEI turbo shield:

    DEI-TURBO SHIELD

A bit spendy but I'm over buying chinizzle crap and having it fall apart in minutes....I think I paid 350 +GST - Motorsport Connections get a lot of my hard earned (they're just around the corner, lol!) so a bit of a deal was done. SpeedFlow lines and fittings they do are top notch and the Jiffy-tite quick connects are a lovely piece of design and engineering....

Also look up DCI, an Aussie company that does most of the local OEM but also exports (Both Ford and GM use it on their performance stuff, Camaro, RS, that sort of thing)
Again - not cheap, high quality, so don't be comparing it to eBay

... longevity the only thing that works is ceramic coating and that it takes 3 weeks if im lucky at this point-our states master turbo technician also said the best i can get for now is some shielding from super cheap auto and he will shape to suit-he knows I will go FULL TILT when it matters..wants me to wet my toes with some boost for the now..get serious if its more than a thang,haha-fkn love him-straight up!
    many opinions make final decisions,
    and I thankyou!

dont knock ebay-theres some love in that bin haha

Well I went ahead with the new ECU, loom etc. I had to re-wire the cruise control, make an accelerator pedal bracket, re-route the oxygen sensors (down behind the fuel line 'box') but the loom itself wasn't too much hassle. Learnt the hard way that the CTS FMIC is a tight squeeze, and I currently have a slimmed down front bumper, lol.
