mk4 max power for 2k budget

    afternoon fellas

I have been looking around for quite a while now on various mods and for the most part, it looks as though buying it from the UK when its on special seems to be the best option

So my question is, if looks aren't a issue, and only cost/performance ratio is of concern, what DIY mods would you recommend that are great value for money

    i.e S2000 mod

There looks to be some cracking DIY mods around so im looking if anyone else knows of any decent DIY mods that could help me give my motor a bit more poke!

If you have a 1.6 then the 2k might best be spent on a GTI upgrade.
If you have a GTI then a tune and exhaust would give most bang for buck.
    MK4 GTI - Sold
    MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
    MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

Save your money, invest it or do whatever besides spending it on the mk4.

Haha OK if you really want to spend the money.

Firstly I would make sure your engine is tiptop. Have it checked for boost leaks etc.

-Creation Motorsport silicon breather pipe ($50)
    -Tune ($600-700)
    -Downpipe ($200 eBay special)
    -AudiTT diverter 710n ($70)
    -brk7e plugs gapped to .28 ($16)
    -Change oil every 5k

Honestly I would stop there and evaluate what your going to do with your car. Everyday road car or track. Thrash your car for a while, see what breaks. Fix it.

That seems a good list. Pretty much my plans aside from breather pipe (Assume this is for pcv)
Haven't done the tune yet or the plugs (I'll do them together) but other items ticked off.
Of primary importance IMHO is the Engine check. Then you know you are in good shape.

And what, buy a mk6 like everyone else. Just because it's not new doesn't mean you shouldn't modify it. Escpecially satisfying when people in mk5-mk7s can't get away from my mk4
