I'd be very interested to explore this as well as I've been toying with buying some Dynamat and skinning the doors and firewall with it.

Whats our stock noise insulation like? I remember on the WRX...ummm.... there was none. Dynamat made a humongous difference.

If its the same as the passenger side its a piece of cake, I had mine taken off one. I didnt do it, but it was done in a few minutes right in front of me. Even drove around without it for a few days

    Easy as pie.

Unscrew 3 torx at bottom of door, Unscrew phillips screw near tweeter. Unclip the door handle pull by pulling the inside plastic out and then gently pulling up. This will uncover 3 brass colour screws that come out and then just gently pull.

It's really easy once you know how to do it, as BDS listed the procedure above.

There's no real "deadening" on the factory doors, but these aren't a weak point for noise in the Bora.
The floor has 1" of thick wool underlay, and then a layer of mass loaded vinyl (MVL), underneath the carpet.
This works exceptionally well as a noise blocker.

The weak point's ive found are the mirrors (they're not the most aerodynamic and quiet), and the windscreen.
Unfortunately you can't really do much about the windscreen.

I've contemplated dynamatting (or better yet use MLV) on the roof but I don't think this would reduce noise considerably.

If you have any problems let me know.
I work round the corner and can give you a hand, should only take 5mins to get the door off.
