    It certainly is, you can get both hands on the pipe, without the clip having a chance to get your skin. I have one obviously, if you ever need one again. I usually replace them with jubilee clips if they would suit the positioning better.

    Thanks for your help!

    I replaced this coolant flange last weekend and that was indeed the problem. I couldn't identify what exactly was wrong with the old part, probably had a hairline crack.

    This was very easy to replace, I used a groove joint plier to move the metal clips.
