Must be a way to scrap the bloody thing, who needs aDPF anyway?

Good point! I forgot there are two lights, I've only ever had the engine light for the sensors / my messing around.

THe warning light I am referring to is yellowish in colour and depicts an engine. It was on for some time, whilst I was away and now it's gone out. Surely if it has a fault it should remain on? My Transporter carries a "slide on camper" all up near to GVM so it get's plenty of long high speed runs. Might have to visit the dealer and get it checked, after all.

The DPF light, from an Audi I think, but you get the idea. The engine one means sensors, not blockage.

I have also had yellow lights on and off for the last few weeks. Initially the DPF which fixed itself. Then the diesel coil lamp light began flashing and engine fault warning appeared on the screen --> contact woarkshop. Van also went into "limp mode" (reduced power).
Took it to VW service and the fault code came up as the EGR VALVE. They ordered one and I am having it fitted tomorrow. They said I could continue driving the vehicle.
The other light that has also been on is the yellow picture of an engine. Not flashing. Hopefully this will be fixed when they change the EGR Valve.
There was also another vehicle in the carpark that was waiting on an EGR Valve also.
Not sure if the EGR valve has been fitted to the new T5.2 only? (Can't find much about it on this site).
Oil sludge from blowzy. All cars have some sort of exhaust gas recycling, and as it needs to be controlled, enters through a motorized valve. This and other moving parts are in the firing line from physical interference from the oil blowby sludge buildup, get a catch can people!

...and have the throttle body checked every 30,000km and cleaned every 60,000km or more often. The car is yours, not the dealer's or VW Australia, so neglecting this problem will cost you a lot of money once the warranty is over. Unless you sell it before the 3 years is up.

EGR Valve was fitted yesterday.
BTW Van has done only 22000km!
The EGR valve had apparently seized and they also had to replace the Exhaust Cooler.
All work done under warranty.
Hopefully these parts last 10x as long
