The original radio/cassette player in my 1996 T4 has finally died and I’m having difficulty matching up the power wires with the replacement that I bought (Boss 455BRGB).
The problem is that the old harness doesn’t have an accessory/ignition wire but instead has the constant/battery wire doubled back into a second slot. Also, there is a grey wire that when traced back goes to an empty slot?
Using a test lamp, the red/brown wire (1st photo) is the accessory/ignition power.
Is it ok to simply cut and join this red/brown wire to the radio’s red wire, cut the pink wire and join to the radio’s yellow wire and cut and join the black ground to the radio’s black wire?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
