We aren't long back from a lap around the Flinders Ranges and some offroading in Arkaroola so no holidays for us until the New Year when we'll do the annual cross country cruise to Sydney and back. Once that is over I reckon the tyres will be well and truly rooted...
Byron Bay is also one of my favourites , well used to be its so crowded these days . In my day we used to be able to drive down from Brisbane on a Friday night and sleep on the beach at Watego's , the police did not care in those days it was accepted openly . Try it now and you would be locked up maybe . Straddie's good too we can see the island from the front of our house as we are pretty close to the bayside area .
Yeah Byron is a nightmare these days. What's it like on the island Sunny? I've never been, wondering weather to book a campsite or just park the van somewhere quiet?

There are several camping areas , not sure about just stopping anywhere but the police are not as bad as other places . Seems to be a sign of the times , my younger days of surfing were so much fun just drive to the beach Friday night and pull up and climb into the back seat to wait for daybreak . If no surf drive to the next break and repeat the process .Check out this page might help https://www.straddiecamping.com.au/ Adder Rock was our favourite back in the olden days as you could drive down a short track negotiate a small creek which was tidal then just turn left on to the grassed area right on the beach . You would wake up to the sound of surf breaking only fifty metres from the van .
Quite Chrissy for us this year.
A short trip to my brother in-laws place on the river for Christmas day, then home till jan.
My parents are coming to us this year, so saves the trip to the south coast.
Then January we're off to Wyangla Dam for the annual family ski trip. This will be Millie's first trip to the dam and the biggest trip for her so far (fully loaded with a fully loaded trailer over the mountains).
Safe travels to all for the christmas break
Perth to Geraldton, then over to Esperence, along the south coast to Denmark then most likely back to Perth, but maybe with a pit stop in Dunsborough on the way home.
Should be good! hopefully the surf is up!!!
Happy Christmas everyone !!
