    I fitted 2011 17" steelies to my 09 Multi.

Range Rover wheels are load rated and fit. You just need a spigot ring and bolt kit. Not sure about the legalities of spigot rings though......! Something like this..... BRAND NEW RANGE ROVER TO VW T5 ALLOY WHEEL CONVERSION KIT BOLTS & SPIGOT RINGS | eBay

I also have a set of Factory 16" alloys that came off my 09 Multivan gathering dust if some one wants them for a fair price.

    Hey Dubswin,

I'm in the same boat, looking for some nice rims for my T5. Originally I was keen on 18" but I don't think there are any load rated tyres available (maybe a Yoko, but dear as poison).

17" plenty of affordable tyres but having trouble finding load rated rims that I like. At the moment i'm liking black painted 17" steelies over a lot of the aftermarket stuff.

I've been doing most of my looking on UK sites - plenty of post my ride/rims type threads to look at on their forums. Seems a lot tend to throw the load rated thing out and are running 18-20" though.

Alloy Wheels - Performance Alloys.com® - The Alloy Wheel Experts and Alloy Wheels - RaceandRoad.com - Alloy Wheels and Tyre Experts. Large range of Quality Alloy Wheels for Cars and Vans.. are a couple of sites which seem to have a pretty good coverage of the T5 alternatives. The latter claim that all their T5 fitments are 100% to spec but the other needs a bit of caution as they seem to consider only offset and bolt pattern as being suitable.

On the load rating thing I'm not willing to take the gamble. My understanding is that although it's a static rating, there s a factor of safety built in to accommodate the dynamic loading and hence why the ratings are so much higher than GVM/4 (I have seen quite a few argue this is all you need, which makes me shudder).

I'm thinking of selling my 18" rims that are on my Multivan at the moment. Load rated with load rated tyres. If anyone is in Sydney and genuinely interested then PM me - no postage.

I might be trying to get some 19" under there!

hmm I have been thinking about 18's so called into two tyre places on Fri to see whether they had anything available in 255/45. First one only had a Dunlop at $750/corner but at least they seemed semi interested in helping and are pricing up some Yokos.

Second one told me I would not find an 18" rim with the right offset or load rating, 255's would not fit and didn't seem to believe me that VW fit 18's to some of their models (and wouldn't give me a price on tyres either!). But that's typical of Newcastle's CBF attitude. Pity, as I had a good experience there before when I scored the owner, not the moron tyre fitter who left school at 15.

David, would you be interested in sharing what you paid for the tyres (and was it through a chain or independant)? PM me if you like.

top_oz, csa make some rims that suit t5's. I got a set of 18x8's and 255 45's for about 2.5K all up. Tyres are falkens and are load rated and seem pretty good in regard to noise, grip etc. I think they were around 300ish a piece. I posted pics in a thread somewhere on the forum, but I cant remember which thread it was in.

I'm pretty sure I'm selling now. Wheels are immaculate, tyres are Continental runflats 255/55R18 that have done 15,000 and show some camber wear due to lowered Multivan. Still life left though. Centre caps or hardware not included.
