I just bought these to put on my T4 but am going to need new wheel nuts (nice shiny ones ). Do I have to get them from VW or can I get them from a tyre place?

Hi Steve,
I bought them off ebay. They are 16's. $450 for set - brand new.
Are they rated for the weight of the T4?
They look like Golf V wheels.

I think they are Golf V wheels. I dont carry loads but I will put light truck tyres on them.
Melissa....don't forget that your van uses wheel studs (bolts)....not nuts.
The tyre place should be able to get them for you but you will need to order them in. Also a VW dealer will be able to source them for you but be prepared for a financial fright. In fact neither will be that cheap.
All that said though....when I fitted VW alloys to my T4 we found that the original studs from the steel wheels fitted just fine. If you want nice shiny ones....get yours polished and lacquered. A few minutes with a buffing wheel on a bench grinder worked marvels for mine.
And you will need to tell your insurance company that you intend to fit/have fitted new wheels of a non standard size especially they are not on the placard (drivers door pillar). Otherwise, you may have an issue with insurance. They may want you to acquire engineering certification or some such from a registered practitioner......and the first thing they will check is the load rating of the wheel. If it isn't approved for your axle load rating (placard on drivers door pillar), and they almost certainly aren't, then they will not endorse their fitment. It's a risk....not a big one either but a risk nonetheless.

Also should the wheel bolts in theory be load rated?

I ALWAYS err on the side of caution. I would not fit Golf wheels to a Transporter.
