What's the deal with the 100kg limit on the T6.1 tow ball?

I have a T6.1 TDI 450 single cab. I'm standing here looking at the tow bar and I am sceptical.
It looks as sturdy as the one on my old hilux single cab workmate.
But yet the hilux tow ball can handle 225kg, the T6.1 can only handle 100kg.

I have T6.1 sitting here with almost twice as much horsepower as the old hilux, but yet I can hardly tow anything heavy...why??

Has anyone tried to tow anything heavy with your transporter?

Mostly because of the construction of the body and also allows for the load in the tray so as not to exceed rear axle limits,
Doesnt matter if the towbar can tow 5000kg you are limited to VW 's limits. Also as its a Euro vehicle vans are built differently to Aus models and have a lighter ball weight. Is similar through most Euro cars

Something to check before buying if needing to tow.
