I agree with most but should add that Bluetooth in a commercial vehicle shouldn't appear in any options list, it should be standard. Heck, if Holden can make auto-reverse parking standard on the VF, VW has no excuse to have Bluetooth an option. And there is no excuse to charge ridiculous prices for a reversing camera. I know VW cars carry a "premium euro" image here, which doesn't really match with the same rep back home, however commercial vehicles are a different ball game and I see more and more Iloads with some fancy signage on them the way Transporters used to have.

I have to agree Tornado manufacturers are getting stingy with options and standard fittings . Bluetooth has been around for years now and should be almost mandantory , I laugh a lot when I see car ads on TV and they say "now with Bluetooth connectivity" Duh hello I have had Bluetooth in our vans courtesy of imported Chinese head units for years now along with built in GPS reverse cameras etc and these units are not that expensive so manufacturers are withholding what is easy to build as standard in cars these days . I believe it is a ploy to fleece owners for more money to get these things that they should have in every car . When you think of the safety aspect having Bluetooth is a huge step forward to save people using phones in their hands , the same for GPS having mine working in the background when I am driving to a new location is a safety thing as it means I do not have to look up a directory , plus it will give voice guidance as I progress and then brings back music etc after each direction .

It would be nice if VW use decent quality trim materials that don't scratch when you just look at them, as in the T5. I look after my vehicles better than most, but each time I enter or exit the T5 I watch where I put my feet as a rub of the shoes leaves a scratch in the plastic that is permanent.

It was not bad in MY05 models, at least I didn't notice any scratches in my T5 even after 100,000km. But hey, there could always be a room for the improvement.

Plastic trim scratching is not just a VW problem , I work in new cars 5 days a week fitting sunroofs . This has me getting in and out of the cars dozens of times over the day , I have made special heavy vinyl covers for the seats and more covers for the console dash etc , also I wear soft sole shoes . As you can imagine when you are working on a customers brand new car the last thing you want is to leave marks on the trim , and I will add some cars are more prone to marking than others , I always keep a special treatment handy just in case .

For sure, maybe your T5 was "special". Mine has only done 8000kms. The trim around the internal door handle is showing wear and tear scratches, the black trim that you step on to enter the van is scratching just to name a few. Not surprising really when the plastic material used is hard and "scratchy" with this term used by the motoring press for cheap interior materials. Well at least it all fits together well, for now anyway.

My only wish for an future models is that if fitted with factory cruise control there should be a symbol or light that changes color to indicate that the cruise is engaged the fact at the moment is that you only have a silly symbol that shows that it is switched on , my aftermarket one I had in my work T5 had small LED with the word "cruise" around the outside when switched on it is green then when its engaged it turns red a bloody good idea in my opinion .

I am confused with your comment.
My cruise control light only comes on when cruise control is engaged. Touch the brake pedal and the light goes off.
    Does yours function differently?

I will unconfuse you I was making reference to the 2004 to 2010 model transporters both ours with factory cruise only have a cruise symbol that just stays lit up when the cruise is switched on it does not change regardless of engaged or not , now the cruise fitted to our 2011 model has not been activated in BCM yet as I am waiting on a new clock spring . Hopefully it will do what yours does and if so I will happily withdraw my comment . Ready to admit wrong request if VW have made a change to correct what was a poor design in the previous model that remained for 6 years or so .

My 2007 Crewvan had cruise fitted, and it functioned exactly the same way my current van does.
I would say that there is a fault or incorrect installation/activation of the system in your van.
Was your cruise factory fitted, or fitted later?
I know that there were/are different parts for the cruise control on those vans depending on which model van you had. When I bought my van, I had to wait for the correct parts to arrive, as they did not have the ones for my Crewvan. Not sure if it was because it had the MFD or some other reason.
