Took my wheels of today and rotated the tyres on the rims, since the outer sides had slightly more wear than the inner ones. I still can't see these Kumho Solus KH15 lasting more than 25,000km in total.

I fitted an uprated headlight loom and some Osram nightbreakers today. Took a while as I always found a 'better' way to run the loom through the engine bay. Took me 3 attempts till I was happy with it

After fitting everything I noticed that I'd used white cable ties instead of black ones, but couldn't give a rats ass at that point. lol.

Also found the friggin' anchor point for the child seat finally, took me about 2 days of Internet research and 5 minutes of real life research in the van. haha

    123kw
    522nm

    Just sayin'

It really shows how heat soak kicks in across the 2 back to back runs.

That makes me worry a lot about my van. We are on the move the get back to FNQ and I expect a big power loss through heat soak up there. I mean you lost 4kw in NSW....time for me to think about a bigger FMIC I guess

Sick of looking at all the crap below the wiper chamber.
If you do this you will need a puller to remove the wipers
The plenum cover is held on by two mounting lugs only.Just prise it up gently on each side and it will remove

    Messy

This is the one of the mounting lugs on the underside of the cover.

    Cleaned engine as well

    Mikinoz,
what chip is in that?It is a Vw T5??
Not Porsche powered or similar by any chance
    522Nm is impressive

    Great job Rebuild!

I tried to prise off the plenum cover when I did the wiper upgrade. I ended up chickening out as the clips just did not want to pop loose... and VW plastic is pricey - even from the wreckers

Took mine off on the weekend as had to access the top bolt for strut removal , its a wonderful location for leaves to accumulate and decay and start a rust spot .

Good job Rebuild not many owners clean the Plenum Chamber or know how to.

My trick is to not park under trees but you can't always avoid them.

To follow on from what we done to our VW as you all would probably know I put a new clutch kit into the van on Sunday strange thing was after refitting and test driving the engine developed a strange sort of hesitation when coasting if you let it at low speed it would quickly become a kangaroo hop effect . This continued on Monday driving into the city to do some work and also on the way home , again Tuesday morning it was doing it again then in the afternoon for the trip home miracle not happening . Again today still no problem , I was at a customers house repairing his sunroof and I happened to mention the problem from the other day , quick as a flash he whips out one of those Tech 2 devices and plugs it in , instantly it shows 2 fault codes 16705 exhaust gas recirculating system and 17000 EGR Valve Current Circuit Electrical . I have no idea how these occurred but he cleared the faults which got rid of the engine light so whatever triggered them has sorted itself out " weird "

Installed cruise control kit to our T4 camper today. It's been sitting in my shed for over 12 months, been a bit worried about removing the airbag & my failing eyesight. My son said he would give me a hand so today was the day. Activated it with Vagcom myself & it works perfectly. Cruise was fitted to my previous T4 & it was the main thing I missed when I bought this one. If anyone with a T4 is interested in doing this themselves, I may do a writeup in the sticky "T4 DIY How to"
