VW Transporter recall

I got a notification on my recall app for my iPhone that there is a recall out for Transporters as the cooling fan might not turn off thereby ending up with a flat battery.

The notification gives a campaign number of 97W8 and a target number of 3524.

That's more than 1 year old recall.

The part of the wiring needs to be replaced with the longer one. I had it done in November last year... it took approx. 3 hours.

It is just that I got the alert just 2 days ago through the Recalls Au iPhone app.

The alert was not specific as far as models, just Volkswagen Transporter.

My 09 is pre facelift. Guess I should call my local VW dealer.

Yeah, definately give them a ring to be sure. Have your VIN handy.
