We already have rear entry on our T5 and all our previous Transporters before now . Big difference ? cost our latest one was converted by myself at around $1500 for the ramp then two seats $800 belts and restraints $1400 total $3700 approx. Difference between these nice ones shown and ours hmm probably $30- $40000 difference . Our ramp is a multi fold by Prairie View Industries attaches with 3 bolts so it can be removed in a flash and the van restored to normal look easily . No mods to the body work other than lowering the van with a Bilstein coilover kit . Two original VW bucket seats can be fitted to the rear as permanent mounting plates have been fitted under the floor so we can carry two extras plus two wheel chairs as well . Okay our wheelchairs are located at the second row position as they are our kids so location is not an issue . Yes these conversions are the bees knees but not every one can find $100k plus for the van and mods . I have helped another Forum member with theirs last year as they had a young guy in an electric wheel chair , the conversion only took a day to complete as we did not need to lower the van as the angle of the folding ramp was pretty easy to access into the van . Their are some government grants available but only up to $10000 .
