Did you read the report completely or just posting the journalist's "sensational" title?
I couldn't be bothered as I'm too busy to read every article that appears, where the title doesn't indicate to me that it's plausible.
With today's overload of information, you have to sort out the rubbish first before you read or click on it.

Sometimes, the vehicles get a poor rating only because they don't protect the pedestrians very well or don't have keyless start or some less important feature for the driver's and the passenger's.

In fairness to Sunny he did say he doesn't try to run over pedestrians which is the main reason in the overall assessment that let these 3 cars down to 4 stars, ie. their pedestrian safety rating. Their passenger components were quite high.

The goalposts move all the time, because at the time of release, the T5 'facelift' had received a EuroNCAP rating of 5. Its overall score actually lead the class at the time.

Thanks Tornado glad you saw the story for what it was about , any way pedestrians should not be on the road anyway .reminds me of the article a few weeks ago where the Governmemt had stopped outright some sales of a couple of Chinese cars as they did not meet a certain criteria . Turns out that non fitment of stability control was the issue , makes you wonder if some drivers today have a license but do not really know how to drive for conditions they encounter . I thought that was a bit silly ? conspiracy theory time I wonder whether the big boys have their own agenda to push and just try everything to get these rulings when they find sales of their own "cheap " cars sales being beaten .

Can't speak highly enough about stability control. I've only ever experienced ESP or DSP as Ford call it in our G6ET (270kW, 530Nm from 1800rpm) and I wasn't being stupid, wet road, left turn onto highway in a slip way, rear hit greasy/diesel mix on road as I took off to merge with traffic and back swung out and I was almost in a power slide. DSP kicked in and it was like a hand grabbed the car from the roof and straightened me out faster then I could. I reported this to police as there had been diesel spill by truck it turned out, servo is on the same corner.

Yes had similar problem with diesel on the road in our older T5 heard a bang under the van a couple of minutes earlier when we had to drive off the side of the road to avoid another car , when we got to the next intersection to turn we waited for the lights to change . When they went green i took off and proceeded to slide sideways right across the road , the bang had been something hitting the fuel cooler under the van the diesel was ours !! traction control did not work in that one lucky we were only going slow . As we had been sitting at the lights with a slight down hill slope the fuel was spraying out all over the road and we just drove right into our own spillage oh it was night time so we could not see the fuel on the road .
