    VW T5 Transporter Turbocharger replacement

    Howdy,
Anybody had any experience with the CCT Turbo brand....model is GTA1752V and found here

    https://speedupautoparts.com.au/gta1752v-cct-turbo-charger-for-volkswagen-transporter-t5-2-5d-bpc-070145701n.html

They are only $649 but I can find no bad reviews...but no reviews really. It is a lot cheaper then genuine VW (mine is 070145701NX) and VW want $2794, cheapest genuine I can find is around $1200. Apparently my wastegate is leaking.

CCT turbo web site states they are an Australian company building turbos 10 years....I just can't seem to grasp why it is only $649...possibly a Chinese cloan??… but they state Australian made????

    Any addvice on this?
    Regards
    Adrian

i was in a VW parts dept. the other day, and because i noticed some slop in the turbo, intake side, while doing my waterpump, thought i'd price a genuine.
For an AXE engine, think they are Garrett VNT15
IIRC it was $3.5K exchange(they take your old one), and 6K ish for turbo only

    Ouch!!

    They are kidding!
You can buy half an engine for that.
No wonder they sell well at the wreckers.

No they are not 5 years ago we were quoted $5000 for our T5 Turbo as well from a dealer , and that was after they had fleeced us for $3600 for a dodgy auto service and an Air con compressor .

AXB engine turbo aftermarket was $1300 roughly. 1.9L diesel.

So far runs well. They don’t look difficult to replace. Just don’t force anything and reinstall carefully !
