VW T5 Multivan - Electric Door Fault / Repair

Hi all

Does anyone know a reliable Auto Electrician working in adelaide that could diagnose and repair a faulty electric sliding door. If the electric motor was the issue, it has reportedly already been replaced with a new factory part.

An Auto Electrician (Electroserve) and VW Solitaire Commercial who I have already engaged failed to resolve the issue - refer background at the end of this message.

When I took the car in to Volksfactory for service, the mechanic was able to pull the following codes from the controller (but not really their thing to repair):

Background- Tale of less than satisfactory service below - couple of months ago now:

I took the car into an auto electrician at Electroserve who diagnosed the problem as likely being a broken electric motor ... new factory electric motor installed ($1700 part+labour), but the door would still not function correctly. The auto electrician explained that his diagnostic computer could not communicate with the door controller, and I would need to take to a VW Dealer to program the controller ...

So I took to Solitaire Commercial who prior to attending managed to email and SMS me about the booking, but after taking the car in on a Thursday morning, and not hearing from them by 3pm, I followed up and they claimed they had tried to call but couldn't get through and could I authorise up to 10 hours of labour at ~$170/hr to diagnose the fault. Given I needed the car on the weekend, I said "no". When I picked up the car, Solitaire scheduled a follow up booking, but I have not heard from them since (except for new car marketing material spam to my email of course).

Need to update my profile: The Polo was sold to my father in law ... up sized to a multivan.

Hardly seems the worth of onboard diagnostics if they cant find the fault on the first inspection and need 10 hours then it dosnt show much for their techs . I was under the impression these diagnostics were so clever they could pinpoint a break or short in awire to the very mm where it was . So much for clever technology these days it will cost and arm and a leg just open a door !!

Interesting the difference between a poor wanderer & a local.

I've dealt with Solitaire twice when in SA. Once they debuggerd (was meaning to say debugged but it fits) that crappy ECU line on my T4 that was full of oily grease, getting the little bugger running like a van again & once when I went through a dust storm between Wilcania & Broken Hill (was it 2009?) & they cleaned out my air filter and intake for me & topped up my cooler expansion bowl for me, all just for a handshake & a thanks.
