Took my Van for its first Run-In drive yesterday, up through Mount Glorious over to Esk to Kilcoy and back to Brisbane via Mount Mee.
This van has the power, if the DSG can decide what gear it should be in its not like a normal auto, and i'm use to paddle shifts.
Same problem solved differently by Merc (I think) and maybe one or two others, the autobox uses gps input to pre-empt gear selection from the terrain and road layout data. I guess the only drawback would be old mapping data but Merc, BWM and Audi did buy "Here" mapping from Nokia a while back.[/QUOTE]
That mapping would help if set up right, as it doesn't seem to pre-empt anything..
i was really disappointed, i was hoping it better than a CVT.
I noticed when going downhill it didn't drop down quick enough for my liking, people must go through brake pads quick if they don't drive it like a manual.
