VW T4 wont start (2.5l Petrol AET)

    Hi
If anybody can help I would really appreciate any advice on this.
My 2003 T4 Transporter kombi wont start. It kicks over then dies. I did a VCDS test and it is showing:
    3 Faults Found:
    00515 - Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40)
    16-10 - Signal Outside Specifications - Intermittent
    00518 - Throttle Position Sensor (G69)
    29-00 - Short to Ground
    00530 - Throttle Position Sensor (G8
31-00 - Open or Short to Ground
The thing is I have replaced the Hall Sensor and the Throttle Body (including sensor) and still have the same issues. There appears to be only 0.1 volts going to the Throttle Position Sensor, which isn't right (should be 6v) and only 1.0 volts going to the Hall sensor (should be 10 to 12v). I have checked the wiring between the Hall sensor, TPS and ECU and it all looks ok. No shorts or open circuits.
It is looking like being the ECU, but VW want $2500 for a new one, and I am not 100% that it is the problem. Am I missing something?

May not be related to your problem but there were issues with T4's cutting out because a $25 relay was faulty , for the love of me I cannot remember which number it was but it fixed my T4 instantly .

When the ECU went in my 1995 model, the Volks Factory here in Adelaide sent it off to Sydney for it to be rebuilt, allot cheaper than buying a new one, unknown to whom they sent it to.
Of the times my van would not start, one was caused by the coil, common problem and the other time was the ignition switch, easy to replace and again a common problem, unsure if either are related to your problem.

    Sounds like a bad earth.

But I wouldn't put it past a bad ECU relay either.

Thanks for the addvice guys. Its really much appreciated.
The earth appears to be good, so will try the $25 relay first.
Perhaps I can shop around for a second hand ECU if the relay isn't a problem.

    Thanks
