VW T4 Transporter motor oil

HI guys,
great forum..
just got myself a 2000 T4 2.5l manual transpoorter with 150K on the clock.
runs great , good nick...what motoroil do you guys recommend.
the sticker from the last service said "Mobil 1 Synthetic"....just not sure if that s the rigtht stuff...have to get myself a workshop manual..
Also, where can i get a nudge bar for my T4 ?

Anyway, your help is appreciated

I use Shell Full Synthetic (Helix Ultra) in my T4 (since 25,000Km, now 135,000). Cheaper than Mobil 1 (alot).

In my Golf III 1.8 I'm trying Nulon full synthetic 10W40 I think.

Hmmmm.... I've been using Shell Helix Synthetic 5W-40 in my passat tdi, now wondering is it the best choice?

Seems like they're splitting hairs on technicalities.

However, Shell is still a great oil, I noticed the differance when I put it in all those years ago, the motor had more urgency.

These oil & fuel threads always cause controversy.

That's an interesting thread. I like to see people quoting technically accurate info. It reduces controversy and conflict.
In the end I guess it all comes down to price. Is the quality difference between Shell and Mobil small enough to choose the cheaper?
