Also, unless you were anticipating temperatures below 0°C, I think you should have bought a bottle of summer concentrate (G 052 184 A2) instead - better value as well.
Happily reviving an old thread, as I just went and bought some myself - like some of you, I not only enjoyed the smell, it did a pretty good job of cleaning.

My old man has worked in service/warranty for car dealers for about 30yrs and told me that mixing windex is a good temp fix, but not a long-term solution as it doesn't prevent build up of crap in the tank and tubes as well as the stuff that comes from the dealers.
He also swears by the Triple-Diamond stuff from Mitsubishi.

Unlike Hawk's mine didn't come with any ratios or indications beyond -70c, and the boys in parts had no idea of any other kind of VW wiper fluid (summer or otherwise) and had NFI about how to fill it up, and recommended 250mL per wiper tank - but they were basing that on where the indicators were on the bottle. Given this thread has been dead for some time, anyone else get ideas or updates on how they went?

1:4, 1 cap, 250mL - "until it foams too much" etc

If you had 3 windshield washer reservoirs, 2 of them concealing goats & one of them with $10000 in it, & it was revealed which one had a goat in it, what would be your chance of scoring a goat from the remaining 2 choices?

    Supercheap cleaner mix 1:50 ratio.
SCA Windscreen Wash Concentrate - 1 Litre - Supercheap Auto Australia
$9 for 1 litre, sometimes on special for $6.

Works for me, does not smell as nice as the VW stuff though.
Is way better than Bar's Bugs Windcreen Cleaner.

Who gets out and smells the stuff I keep the windows and sunroof closed when washing screen as usually it sprays right up and over the roof !! I will point out I do dilute the Windex from Bunnings with a small amount of water .

I've just done this with the genuine stuff (the bottle that The Hawk posted). $14 from VW Chatswood (NSW).

I couldn't work out how you would tell how full the reservoir during filling (which is what the manual says to do), since you can't see the tank itself.

Mixed 300mL at 1:4 to make 1.5L. It seems to work ok.

The guys at Chatswood didn't have any summer concentrate - they said they were not sure any is brought into Aus. Has anyone bought some?

Two and a half years on I'm still rocking the same mixture (in both the Multivan and the Cab), sometimes it does look a little foamy if it's bouncing off the wiper arms, but nothing I would consider unusual or over the top. I still don't have any clogs, both cars still fan perfectly.

In my opinion it's worth the outlay (unless of course you're taring through a full bottle every couple of weeks)... and yep, still love the smell

Just purchased some washer fluid today, and they gave me 2 x 500 ml bottles, I asked them if I could have 1 ltr bottles and they told me they don't make them anymore, and 500 ml is going to cost me the same price as the 1ltr bottles I used to get.
So now I am being charged the same price for half the amount?
    This is ludicrous.
