Hey Brackie, Hows thing mate, i have been a little quiet latley, been in the UK and stuff, the van was for sale in Sydney at the Fowles Goverment Auction, they have synchros too, i decided to stay away from them, use too much fuel and later in life they get more exspensive to repair, i had some t3's which were synchros and was exspensive to keep up to scratch.

will post piccies fpr sure mate

I own one of these but after conversion by Trakka, These vans are excellent value for money. How many ks? Does the auto work properly? I would recommend to change the trans fluid if it hasn't been done.
What are your plans for it?

    ex ambo

Hi there volksfolks. We have just bought an ex ambulance V.W identical to yours. Ours was built 8/2002 as well and has done 55,000 ks. It was going okay until the battery indicator light on the dash remained on even after the engine was started and running. So the flat ribbed aternator belt was checked , it was okay, so then decided to take the alternator out ( very time consuming excercise) and had it checked out by an auto electrician. He replaced the regulator inside the alternator, retested it and said it was fine, pulling over 100 amps.Thought the problems were solved , reinstalled the alternator and flat belt and lo and behold the indicator light still won't go out, so don't know what to do now. Perhaps use it as the most expensive garden ornament, as it can't be driven. Any suggestions from anyone out there would be appreciated.

Take it to a dealer or VW specialist and have the software checked out. All it may need to start with is a soft reset of all the fault codes.....without VAG-COM or similar with these things.....even when you fix them....the computer will always say 'no'.

Our friend Cory bought a Syncro version, has had alot of problems with the wiring. The wiring was just cut, leaving quite a job to correct.
