Well, unless there is something wrong with your transmission, it will shift from gear to gear at different rpm when driven like a hoon and when driven like grandma. Doesn't it?

Which really means the same in manual shifting into the gear sooner or shifting later.

The performance tune is ok, no difference in economy really but definitely a bit more power.

Simon was helpful and had lots of information.
"1300 kms" is not a claim, just meaning trying to get every last km out of a tank. I have some Jetta TDI customers that are approaching this sort of figure actually, but if you are pushing a brick through the air, well it's going to be somewhat different.

This is a "brick" forum not the Jetta forum so your 1300km figure could be considered misleading.

Transporter, have you driven a T5 Auto for any length of time, not just around the block? It changes gear when it needs to, you can't short shift the auto like you can a manual.

I appreciate that you have seen some gains in economy, I did not. I have had my Viezu tune for 11 months. I did not change my driving style when I got the tune, no lead footing it about because there was extra power. Just drove the car the same and as a result got the same economy.

Yes, there is some more power when you put your foot down and want to over take.

Not knowing HTF you drive (from your previous posts), I wouldn't have known if you were holding down the auto on shifts or not (or tramping on the accelerator as Transporter posted).

In the light of your more recent post, given that you don't see any improvement with driving normally, your van must be pretty loaded up all the time.

2 adults and 2 kids, The 2 single middle seats are in storage so its set up as a 5 seater. No big loads, its a family car. 50% of the time its me and 1 or 2 kids and no gear.

Normal driving, as in keeping up with the flow of traffic. Not racing at every set of lights or holding up traffic either from going slow.
