Two weekends in a row disasters .

You would think that I would learn , the other week I broke the clock spring on the new T5 while fitting the factory cruise , so what happens this weekend ? Well decided to fit the aftermarket cruise from my van to my sons T4 spent ages trawling the net for the speed sensor wire which I eventually found . This was after I had removed the whole fuse panel under the dash plus the steering column shroud and the instrument cluster in a fruitless search due to some misleading info DOH . Then because the wire I needed was behind the radio I have the van looking like a disemboweled corpse , eventually get the thing back together and was running diagnostics on the cruise well all went well until the actuator test no luck ?? . confused I rechecked the wires into the engine bay . The colored sticker on the plug had long faded away and I had one wire wrong [knew I should have marked it ] so after all the work done to this point I had blown the cruise module Jeez . So I plow onward as the new unit is only a plug in and its cheap enough . Then I refit all the rest disemboweled other bits radio etc and lo and behold I managed to get the remote central locking red led wire touching and you guessed it another bloody module out to lunch [should have stayed in bed ]. My wife asked me what I had achieved this weekend as I seemed to be all weekend down in the carport . Well I did wash the new van without mishap I fixed up a couple of trims in the sons T4 and I replaced the clothes line under the house so it was not a total loss . How was everyone else's weekend better than mine I hope .

I know how you feel but I guess it goes with the territiory when you try to do things for yourself. I try to think of it as if I 'stuff it up' at least I've learned something and won't make that mistake again, I wish!!!

You could blew up the dash panel insert that costs $$$'s

Just remember, it's never so bad that it couldn't be worst.

Funny thing is it was all the aftermarket stuff that gave me grief on the T4 I think the rest of the stuff in T4's is bullet proof almost .
