    Transporter T4 door compartment

    G'day all,

After some info on getting a passenger side door compartment thingy (the one which attaches to the door trim) if they do have them?
My T4 has the standard issue light grey plastic door trims and i want to install some speakers in the doors but i want it to look original so if i install a passenger side compartment which is a mirror image of the driver side one it should look perfect.
Can you get these anywhere in Sydney? Wreckers? Caravelles? Are they costly? After some research it seems they're available in England for 40 pounds or so which i know equates to a fair bit of oz dollars which being a student, i don't have.

    Cheers, Jimmy

No euro wreckers in the area had T4's.
Went to pick n payless-didn't have the door pocket.
Got 2 door trims instead for $25 each and a pair of rear springs for $50 to cut down a bit. Yes, i know it's not the best way to do it. My EK is lowered at the front in the same way just for now and it's fine, just have to drive accordingly.
I'll probably just cut out the door trims for speakers.
I might do fibreglass enclosures/pods to do them properly and sell them later, but as its only temporary it's probably not worth the time.

You can cut the T4 ones to accept a flush mounted speaker.
I have heaps of T4 trim and parts and am culling the stock at the moment, so come down and grab untold bargains.
Also have a couple of rear seats for a T4 and some immaculate drivers seats.

Thanks for the info Golf Loon, I'lll keep that in mind for next time. Seems not many wreckers have VW vans in stock, let alone 'velles. oh well.
Now that i've got all that stuff i have to get the whole thing buffed as it's been in the weather all year. I LOVE BUFFING VANS...not

    note to self:
One spring cut in half for two rear springs does not equal. It was fun to try though. feels like driving a lawnmower over speed bumps
Sitting on bumpstops with wheel arch just over top of tyre, got sick of cutting half coil at a time and making no difference whatsoever. Oh well.
Back onto stilts methinks. sound system next, at least it will sound good
