    Smile Transporter T25 / T3 fuel economy

    I have a nice 1989 Caravelle GL auto, its only fault being its guzzling of ze petrol - has anybody got any tips on how to improve this -eg improved injectors, remapping chip or ???

    Mate they do guzzle but have it looked at with someone with a CO machine as you can adjust the mixtures on them and have you had it serviced????? Mate all sorts of things can lead to high fuel consumption even to the point of sticky brakes, mate if you have had it serviced regular get the mixture checked.

    t3 auto caravelle std fuel return is between 12-16 liters per hundred...nature of the beast cheers steve

    Hello Phil, you might get more responses if you tell everyone exactly how bad your current fuel consumption is, plus what is your usual driving conditions and style (eg flat out from traffic light to traffic light with a 1.5 tonne load, or easy 80-90 kmh highway cruising).

    That way people with similar vans can tell you whether you are using the same as everyone else (in which case not a lot can be done), or if you are using heaps more then you know to look for some reason why so you can fix it.
