See how it goes with the fluid and filter chance, and maybe give it a reset as well.
If it's still thumping into gear, you'll need to rectify it. Don't keep driving it.

I don't think that is strictly correct. There are different model designations within the TF60 codes. Some of the VW ones are 09G/09K(Transporter)/09M
They vary in torque ratings and as such have differently designed internals (eg TC sizing, gear config, bearing sizes, etc)

Anyway, have finished my oil change.Still clunks at first into Drive, maybe not as bad. If i then go straight back to Park, then Drive, doesn't clunk.Almost as if it needs to build up pressure on the first selection or something
Gearchanges are definitely smoother.
This is the pieces i found in the sump.On closer inspection they feel like small rubber particles or something.
This was the filter after 23K
My dodgy resistance checks, not even sure i did it right
N90,N91,N92,N93,N282,N283 two wire solenoids measured around 4.6 - 5.0 ohms
N88,N89 single wire solenoids both 11.4 ohms
from my googling, only the 93 and 283 two wire ones should be 1-5 ohms, the others should be 9-24 ohms.
The 88 and 89 should be 9-24 ohms, mine seem ok
Yes, i'm going to keep driving it for now

Not so much strength but more that they should have built the box so it could be serviced .

Yes you are right Transporter but originally VW dealers would not even considering doing a service , I would love to know why they suddenly changed . They were not built to be serviced they had to make certain parts that could be fitted to carry out the service as it did not exist before then , some transmision places would have worked out they could do them but VW just refused .
I think that filter and gasket kits were available, the same as for the Aisin transmission in the Touareg2 - lifetime fill if you’re asked the dealer and genuine filter and gasket very expensive. Still you could buy an aftermarket service kit and change the oil in them.
Though, I’d like to point out that the last van that was fitted with 6sp. tiptronic was made more than 8 years ago.
