    Tires.....What to get?

Hi fellas, I have done some searching and reading on here and it seems the Hankook Dynapro and the Michelin Agilis are the most popular. My van has 2 Hankook RA14's on the front and 2 Bridgestones that are leaking and worn out. I plan on fitting two new tires to the front and moving the current fronts to the rear.

I value safety and ride comfort above tread wear.

Are there any other brands/models I should be considering?

    Tyres to consider

Kumho KL51 may be worth a look if available in your size. They are intended for "SUV's".

I've put a set on my partners Lexus LX330 to replace the OEM Bridgestones. The difference was like day and night. Kumho's have a 600 treadwear rating vs 140 for the Bridgestones which would suggest they are hard possibly at the expense of ride comfort and grip but ride improved and grip increased even in the wet.

I've just put a set on my current model Pathfinder replacing the OEM Goodyear Wranglers and found a similar improvement. Wranglers were rated at 440 treadwear. Ride is considerably improved despite running higher pressures - haven't found the optimum yet. I think they might be a little quieter on most surfaces as well.

Best of all is the price - $245 each fitted for 265/65 x 17 H rated as opposed to over $400 for the OEM Goodyears.

I've had Michelin Agilis61 (195/70/15) on my Vito and they lasted 75,000km. Handling was good too.

I ended up getting the Dynapro 23's fitted today for $199 each. So far so good but need to test them in a few different conditions first.

I've done 20,000km on 17" Hankooks on my T5 and I can see another 30,000km in them easy. No difference to original Michelins the van came on, exept that they lasted 37,000km and they were to 1.5mm at 25,000km.
Will buy them again if they would be arround.

Which Hankooks did you get? Have just asked for a quote to replace the Michelins, and there was a query over the load rating on the Hankooks not matching that of the Michelins.

    Cheers
