If movement within car does not stop numbness I suggest pulling over and having a little walk or doing some stretches.
I thought I was depressed until I read this thread but now I'm realy worried.
My legs,my legs,I can't feel my legs!!Argggg.
It is probebly only the different angle of the steering wheel putting some pressure on the nerves in the wrist.
This could be anyware from the neck all the way down to the wrist and if it doesn't happen any other time then stop worring about it or have a doc check it out.
I will line up a massage for you with BIG BETTY,she is big realy big and all your problems will be forgotten.

Rebuild,
I used to get the same symptoms during the many times that I crossed the Nullarbor, gradually getting worse as the years went by.
It eventually got so bad my fingers were tingling at night and a visit to a doctor revealed thad I had Carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands.
Cured by a relativly simpe operation to both wrists called Carpal Tunnel Release.
Do a Google search for more info.
Still do long drives, no more tingling.

You are probably in a slightly different position in your new van. I move around a bit, grab the wheel higher for a while, then lower, rest my right arm on the door trim, then take it off. Our bodies aren't really designed to stay static like we do when driving, so any movement helps.
If you hold the wheel tightly it can help to relax your grip.
Sometimes I move the steering wheel up/down/in/out, and raise/lower the seat slightly, just to alter my angles a bit.
I get the missus or kids to drive!
I mostly get tingly when riding my pushy. Best thing to do is vary your hand positions and don't grip too tight.

I met a older bloke on a KombiClub run down at Eden & said he used to get tingling in his hands from his T5. He back traded to a nice trakka T4 & guess what.... no tingling ....
