    tdi450 Transporter available for ordering

    Just had my local dealer message me that I can now order a tdi450 in a Transporter and some options specs have changed including things like LED taillights, adaptive cruise while city emergency braking as standard etc..will see if there is a spec sheet to look at....and the Australian dollar is rising.....

    the TDI450 engine sounds like a good option for the Transporter, i wonder if all the engines will be Euro6 from now on.

    as i would assume they will drop the 132kw, as the 450 is now available

    I think the tdi340/400 will be dropped as they don't use adblue. I believe in Oz full euro6 kicks in for all vehicles built after a set date later this year. In other words manufacturers cannot use non-euro6 compliant engines even if the vehicle is already on the market and was so before full euro6 start date.

    adblue, is a urea based product that reduces emissions.

    Almost all euro 6 engines are using it.

    im glad i have a euro5 engine and don't have to deal with it, i just have a DPF to deal with stuffing up and not a ad blue system t stuff up as well.

    still 450nm would be nice, but V6 diesel would be better

    I don't really know, however adblue has been in use in large trucks for a long time so issues would have arisen well before now considering the distance these trucks cover. Of course short trips, not being able to regenerate has been a main issue of DPF's so a good question would be does this driving style have an adverse effect on adblue as well?

    I'll never understand technology that fails because of how we drive or how far , seems to be a bit of a failure that we should not have to bare when it goes belly up .

    Thought that short trip driving has been the bane of internal combustion engines since they were manufactured.

    I think the past theory was short drives in the old days was a cause of early engine wear due to lack of heat and oil circulation BUT it didn,t stop the damn thing from being driven which is my point .

    nailed it.

    there a quite a few issues with theses VW euro 6 engines in the uk at the moment.

    The emissions system keeps lighting up faults on the dash and dealers are replacing parts until it stops.

    Thats all good under warranty, but $$$ after and the fact you can't drive your van
