T6 Towbar and Accessories
On my last VW T5.2 I had the dealer fit a towbar as part of my order. As the dealer cost is around $2000 I decided against it this time.
Whilst the Hayman Reese towbar will be cheaper to fit as aftermarket ($900), the only issue is that there is no Towbar available yet. As HR have not finalised the design yet.
I am not sure it is massively different to the T5.2, as with Australian ADR's, there is a process to be followed and completed.
I also have the same problem at the the front. I want to get a Nudge bar for mounting a lighting bar but none have been fitted to a T6 and the shape at the front of the van is different to the T5.2.
If anyone has had any luck sourcing these accessories locally for a T6 it would be great to hear about.
Cheers
Andy

I wold imagine that VW would not have changed the chassis with the T6 but the exit point under the bumper would be different due to rear tailgate and bumper design , I know or first T5 had a dealer fitted towbar but it was a couple of months after we picked up the van until we had it fitted as it was not available then . Coincidently VW use a New Zealand company for their bars Best Bars but as its licensed only VW had them , when we bought our T5.1 in 2012 the bar fitted straight on to the new one but the wiring was different . I noticed on a video posted on the forum a month or so ago it showed the factory Europe bar coming out from under the bumper one of those goose necked ones .I presume you have asked around a few companies who specialise in towbars to see if they have done one yet , that was how I found an alternative wiring loom for our T5.1 $120 and no coding as opposed to VW's $600 plus and then add the coding on top .Found this on a UK site may give you guidance but probably not AU compliance being we are supposed to be so damn different from the rest of the world .VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER TOWBARS

T6 is a lot easier to fit the genuine wiring to, compared to the T5GP.
As far as I know, the genuine bar is pretty much the same as before.
Not sure what HR are going on about with regards to ADRs, as 90% of their bars are not compliant anyway.

I tried to order a tow bar when I ordered my T6 Multivan in March 2016. I was told by the dealer that it's not available as an option yet.

Multivan may have a different wiring harness, especially if the van has Lane Assist.
The genuine kits are definitely available for Transporter, though.
