"the only all new vehicles in this class are the Ford Transit Custom and Mercedes Benz V-class/Vito"

Actually, Mercedes Benz V-class/Vito is a similar facelift only, not all-new, and it is still much behind the Multivan: still no curtain air bags in 2nd and 3rd rows, still no roof or face-level air vents in 2nd and 3rd rows, base model still with 5sp auto with 7sp auto is only on top models.

Looking at T6 pictures: No Mudflaps! One thing I always wanted to do was to check what the Multivan would look like if I were to remove the mudflaps. Another benefit may be a minor air drag reduction. Looks like it has been done on the T6.

It looks like I'll wait till the new van hits our showrooms, before I consider updating my MY05 4motion.

That two tone doesn't look quite right to me, but I do like the updates bits and pieces around the van. As I've said, we are due for a new lease about now so I might just hold out until I can have a look at the new T6 in the flesh before making any decisions on non van options.

I 'll bet one part of my anatomy it does not happen here . Local distributors will trot out the usual diatribe that they will not offer the lower price by justifying that they have added some more functions or extras . It happens oh so much these days . Thank you for the post by the way ..
We're on the same page. Standard specs seem to have been raised, with prices staying same or dropping on overseas models so VWGA better do the same here. A van with front looks very similar to the previous one and a rear end that has changed even less is very underwhelming and if prices are raised at the same time I cannot see sales jumping up and iirc there has been a 30+% drop.

I beg to differ on the thought the Vito is of the same level upgrade, it looks completely different to the outgoing model, has the same type of engine changes but comes in fwd, Rwd and awd and uses a torque converter auto providing a smoother driving experience.

When I spotted that rear end shot of the red T6 van I thought they had included a T5 instead... and I am a bit of a "train spotter"

On one of the OS websites, it mentioned DSG so probably no 8 speed Auto...

VW are clearly adopting the 'evolution' approach.

Found this video in English with a walk around of the 3 models:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W00qamTrYZk

And the brochure link from German website:
    http://www.volkswagen-nutzfahrzeuge....ransporter.pdf

While the new design is definitely evolutionary, the video shows the changes better then the photo's we've seen previously and as a train-spotter, I'm happy to see on the 150kW versions the 3 red "TDI" badges are back

Rang my dealer asking if they were taking orders for T6. T5GP orders stopped mid-April.

Answer was yes, $1000 deposit with pricing assumption based on same prices for most options as on current T5GP until VW Aust release full pricing. This is to put you at head of supply with expected deliveries first thing in 2016. If prices jump by a set % (sorry I forgot what the exact % was) you have option to cancel while if they drop then you're in luck. If you place an order with lots of factory options and it's built you cannot cancel before delivery. Considering at media launch VW made a song and dance about price drops or status quo will be interesting to see what eventuates here. Has anyone else heard the same about ordering a T6 now?
