had an impact puncture(sharp rock or similar) on one of my Conti 5 Premiums 235/55x17" recently.Replaced with Hankook RA23 to match the spare and put both on front.

The Conti's are all similar wear(more on fronts) at 16K ish, almost down to the indicator.Might get 20-25K tops.

The RA23s should be good for at least 40,000km. They could be probably the longest lasting in this size profile. I do a lot of reversing and sharp turns, with lots of runabouts and they lasted ok. Always pumped to 51psi front and rear since the van was always fully loaded.

    I have been running 235/55R17 Maxtrek M1 103W tyres.

Very happy with their performance and wear. I am now on my second set.

First set did 46,000km on the standard rim.
Latest set has done 37,000km - half of that on the standard rim an about 20K on upgraded 17x8 Dynamic Steel Wheels with +25 offset.

Am concerned the wider offset and width is wearing the edges faster. Will have to get a realignment to improve wear.

Van handles much better on the aftermarket wheels with wider offset.

They don’t have the right load rating for the T5/T6.

I have just had 4 of the Cooper ATT 225/60/R17 tyres put on my T5. Load rating is 103, same as what was on there originally. Speed rating is H (210kph). Original tyres were W (270kph).

Only had them for a couple of days but happy with them so far. Don't seem to be too noisy and they made my speedo more accurate. Only 1-1.5kph out at 100kph on GPS.

    OK.. I'm confused.

    Mud and snow tyres are a 215 60 17 and 103t.
    Standard tyres re 235 55 17 and 103h

Big difference in Terms of speed rating.

What/which rating do I need to go by? It's difficult finding h+ tyres in an offroad tread.
