Did anyone have Maxis MAP1 and Hankook RA23?

If yes, which one did you get more km from?

    I've used RA23's and MAP1's
from my notes, got about 46K km from the Hankooks(wasn't a full set, as i had some tyre bubbling issues and punctures). All seemed to wear on inner and outer edges with centre of tread mostly good.45ish psi
2 x MAP1 put on front at around 119K, got about 138K now, so 19K on those, not sure they'll make 40K.Run at 45psi.Wear is pretty even.

Hi all, have just found this thread and I'm looking into tyres for my van. I carry around 600kg all the time and tow my racecar that weighs 2200kg including the trailer a few times per year.
My van has Nexen tyres with a load rating of 99 which are incorrect but came with these as I bought it as an Ex police van. The tyres I will buy will last me 5 years and the life of my van so I am being quiet fussy with my choice.
Im liking the Hankooks and the Maxxis at this stage.
    Cheers Elvio

The Maxxis maybe a bit noisy as some people who used them would tell you.

I personally like to stay with W rated tyres, e.g. Dunlop, Michelin, etc. I believe Hankook is H-rated and Maxxies is V-rated. But, in your case, since you need to carry heavy loads all the time, consider 109 rated goodyears "Cargo Vector 2":

At 132800km for the second time I went with the Hankook RA23. It feels like I've just bought a new van, nice and quiet ride again.

If someone wants an unused GY Cargo Vector 215/60/17c tyre... You could have it for $150 and I even through in a good used one with the 3mm thread remaining. I'm happy to deliver in Adelaide area for free.

Finally made my choice and selected Michelin Primacy 3 235/55/17 103 rated Y speed (300km/h) on my a set of new steel wheels.
Drives very smooth and rated as a fuel saving tyre.

I am not surprised it runs smooth there would be no weight on the tyres in that position !!

Just wondering where they are sourced from? They do not seem to be on the Michelin au web site, could be a gret import?

    Hello,
I notice a few entries back that there is a suggestion to consider 16" wheels. I have a 2011 T5 4 motion Crewvan with 132kw Engine and the size of the front brakes means there is no way you can fit 16's on it. I have Dunlop Sport 01's at present but will be getting something new soon as they all have some serious cuts in them from previous ownership which is working on my conscience. Shame, as they feel like a great tyre and have only done 20k with good tread left. Sounds like most are happy with their Hankook RA23's. It sounds like the best way out of off roading or highway is to have two sets of wheels, but of course travelling to somewhere and then going off road is the problem. 'Horses for courses' I guess.
