Was it the 2K I see them advertised at and do they fit an adaptor face plate as the original unit is oblong shaped .

Well I gave up in the end.The unit is back in the box and on its way home...Every day was a new challenge and I really don't have the time to re-invent the computer. What an exhausting experience! Put the original back in with Bluetooth and the dark cloud has passed.

I thought you had the unit sorted ? what went wrong I have fitted many of these and not had any problems that I could not sort out myself . I suppose as I have purchased quite a few of these for friends etc I have learnt to dig around in the settings as there are so many parameters that are open for adjustment . I fitted one into a friends Colorado the other day and it had so much stuff within its systems that the booklet does not cover you just have to experiment .

Stevan. Your not the only one sent mine back yesterday. Had a can bus issue in the unit, would drain the battery if the van was not started after 36hr. Unit was found to draw 0.7 amp with the unit switched off and keys removed.
Erisin was very difficult to deal with trying to get an Australian return address. Hopefully I will see a refund soon.

Relly liked the features but flat batteries are not cool. Sat Nav now has me looking at the rns510

Hi guys, well I did get it all working with external mic etc.Was driving only now and then as I have been using another vehicle for work. The other day I left Sydney on a 9 hr drive north. The radio was gone before I got out of the city, the sat nav had a total failure, the Bluetooth went and would not re-pair! Sunny Im sure with your skill you would have been able to sort it out. At the end of the day I will say it was nice to have all that sitting in the dash but such a strain doing all that it demanded! I just want hassle free motoring with music.Sure as you say you can turn the THING off for a re boot but after trying a few things out on a long drive I ended up listening to my telephone playlist on full volume for a whole day...Husky did you get the Leo and RMA number to go to Rhodes? I think I will go the rns 510 as well.
    Good luck....

    Yes Leo and RMA.
Still waiting to see if they will refund?
I just won't one that works and having satnav has spoiled me so RNS 510 it is.
There are a few on eBay from Europe

If you need up to date maps in your satnav then the RNS510 is not the best option. Personaly, I'd go with the Pioneer or similar "car play" unit. I've never had any luck with the cheap chinese knock offs and it always cost me more to get it all working as it should.

I've yet to take some pics of the pioneer unit, but first drive today trying out both the onboard GPS and CarPlay navi & apps and I'm very happy with it. Everything just works.... Well except the dial button on my MF wheel, all other S/wheel buttons function as they should.

Navigation was fantastic through both setups (running with Google maps as well to compare routes and ETA) but obviously the onboard GPS does not need data. Speed limit display and over speed alerts are also helpful.

I'll have to dig further into what else it can do, just driving today for work so not a lot of time to play around.
