T5 TDI top speed?

I was just curious if anyone knew what the top speed is? Or how fast you have had it up to.......when you were on that private road of course

I have a 2.5L TDI T4 2001 Model.
It would do 161kph downhill with a following wind, on my private motorway, in standard trim.
With the chip I have now It is good for nearly 180.

I think with the higher output engine you guys have and a 6th gear, you should do better.

A few of the poms on the Brickyard claim to have seen better than 120mph out of their standard 175hp 2.5s (on their "private roads" of course). The chipped ones seem to go a little faster (but get there quicker).

I've only ever had mine up to a little over 140kmh (overtaking road trains), but it gets there surprisingly quickly for such a big van. I'm sure there would be quite a bit more to discover if I didn't value my licence

Prior to speed restrictions in the Northern Territory I saw 170 Kph befor backing off.

Top speeds km/h with standard roof,long or short wheelbase.
4 motion and/or raised roof is a little less.

had mine up to 185ish,on a slight downhill(sloping runway ).Took a while to get there

I had my van up to 155 and my friends crew van (128 kw) manual up to 170. Had to ease off due to road conditions on both occasions, private road of course!
