    T5 Service mode

    Hi all
Im looking for tips on getting t he T5 into service mode , similar to the T4. I know there is no mechanism for tilt etc on the T5 but i was basically just looking for a general how to. I have downloaded the Erwin stuff & there is no procedure in the work shop manuals that I can find.
I need to replace my alternator & the Erwin manuals are also devoid of this procedure. is it because it is jsut so simple it doesnt need one or because it is too complex? beats me , but it appears the entire front of the car has to come off & all radiators disconnected & emptied.
Im also after a new Alternator if anybody has any tips on good 2nd handys or aftermarket.
ohh & also coupling I guess too.

It's a big job, but you don't need to dump any fluids or pull the whole front off. You'll need to drop the A/C compressor out of the way, likewise for the power steering pump. The front engine mount, and supporting brackets need to come out, too. There's also a support bracket that the alternator bolts up to, that needs to come out, as well. This is a real pain, as you can't physically see 3 of the 4 bolts.

If you can wait til a bit later this week, I'll do a quick run-down with pics on how to put it into the service position.

How to remove Intake Manifold 2.5 174 AXE - The Brick-yard

It only moves the front forward max 15cm.No fluids were harmed in the making of this procedure

There lots of other useful stuff in the rest of the Modifications section there, too.Have a look around

Ah yes, that's the link I was looking for.

Although, even that guy went way overboard with what needs to be removed.

    LOL!
    Mine is a 2012 2.0 TDI.
The light came on today and I only got 10 kms before it went crazy due to low battery so I had to pull over ant get towed.

Anyone changed the regulator/brushes with it in situ?
