T5 Reverse Camera & Bench Seat Order Conflict ??

Ordered a new T5.2 LWB 4Motion 132kW Pearl Black Transporter on 03-06-2011.
Dealer called me on the following Tuesday and said VW found a
conflict with the bench seat and the reverse camera?? Why?

Anyone else had this issue?

Order has $25,000 worth of options included.

You will probably find that the factory cannot do the combination as you requested , there are so many models that they would probably need to delay delivery for months just to build one customized one van . We bought two T5,s and they were ordered pretty stock except for factory cruise on one but they still came through with some different features as we were told one model can have some things and the other model not . The dealer would only tell us that if we wanted certain things to be done and be fitted factory we would have to wait for stock from Germany and they were very quick to point out that the price would probably rise while we waited . The camera is a VW genuine factory option with the RNS510. Actually I didn't even want the park distance sensors but I seem to be having trouble getting the camera without it. I think it may be time to have a word with my sales guy.

I'm hopeful I get the same explanation from my dealer. I'm also hopeful that he can also fit the camera
at the dealer once it arrives. There's a bunch of stuff that has to be done on delivery anyway.
Probably a weeks worth of accessory fittings & painting alone.

To the best of my knowledge you have to have the park sensors wiring as that is what the camera connects to. MKV Golf are similar where you need to retrofit a camera you need to install all of the wiring as well.

have emailed dealer with said question about park sensors & cam.
First reply about issue was that he can fit a Generic Camera
which I assume would include the need for whatever interface modules etc etc.

Don't go down that path, the generic cameras/interfaces are rubbish, they don't work everytime you go into reverse, if you upgrade the firmware in the headunit they will may stop working until you send back the interface for an upgrade or replacement and the image quality is nothing like the factory one. I've been there with the kufatec kits and the other kits are similar in the problems they have. It's worth paying to do an OEM install as it works and works well.

Can't see what the issue is as I've got one with damn near the same spec on order (Currently waiting for delivery).

I'm getting the RSN510 (Not the Sat Nav model) with reverse camera + bench seat along with numerous other options... A lot of them are being fitted locally (Even the up-rated dash cluster & multi-function steering wheel) with no dramas... Just might not be the cheapest price
