T5 Multivan Folding Table - Brisbane

    Hi all,

New to the forum and new to VW ownership!

I recently picked up a second hand T5.2 Multivan MY11 and was hoping to get the folding table. Anyone have any suggestions on where I could locate one in or around Brisbane?

    Thanks!

Hi Itsjkell and welcome to the forum!

Not sure exactly what you're looking for as I've never seen one but there is a T5 multivan folding table listed on Gumtree ... the only problem is that it's in Sydney but it might help give you an indication of price?

Don't no why the link isn't working? I had trouble last time as well!

If you go to Gumtree and type in 'vw multivan table' it should come up for you. There is also another table listed but it's a little dearer and even further away in Victoris.

Do you mind if I ask what your intentions with the van are Gold Coaster? Ie will you be using all the seats?

The reason I ask is that I was also keen to buy a table when I first got the multi but now after a few years of daily use, I honestly think it'd be more of a pain. It might be good for road trips but unless your planning around not utilising the rear 3 seater, I'd see how you go without it. I think it's novelty will wear off within a few weeks of having to slide the seats and table every time someone wants to get in the back.

Flip side is that if you won't be using the back seat and need a table for yourself and significant other, it's probably be great!

Alternatively, have you tried VW direct? From memory (can't trust it that much unfortunately!) it was $350 new.

Thanks Gold Coaster and The Kiwi,

in answer to to your comments, I checked out gumtree as you suggested and I think that’s the way I’m going to go. I spoke to VW and if you order the table with a new van it’s around $400 but to order one on its own (which they ship on it’s own) is $2,500!!! Crazy! I’ll keep an eye out on gumtree for some in QLD.

Whcih leads nicely onto your question The Kiwi,my partner and I have a young baby and who knows if more come along and I just thought it might be useful to have a table in the back for those weekend road trips etc. I must admit, I’ve not seen how they work in too much detail nor how they impact getting in and out, but it’s a good point and I’m going to go and check them out at the weekend at the local VW garage. Interesting how most on gumtree state they were removed on vehicle purchase and never really used!!

More research needed and I’m definitely not buying one direct from VW!!!

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

We have one of these sitting in the garage which we ordered when we bought our van. I think when you have child seats it's a pain the arse for a few reasons, mostly because it makes moving the chairs around a little harder, but with child seats it also doesn't really lift up high enough for the kids.

It was great to have a table to work on with my laptop that one time I used it when we here travelling, but it's spend almost the entirety of it's life in the garage in it's plastic bag.

I think if your seats are somewhat static and you're only moving adults with laptops/things to use at the table it would be great... like in a corporate van. For the rest of us not so much.

Did you get your table? I have one that I have never used - my van is now a 9 seater - and you can have it for $150

I just bought a '07 Highline and it was missing the table (dammit) If anyone has a spare or unused one floating around in and around the Sydney area please let me know.

    Cheers

    Adrian
